In 2022, the Arkansas Municipal League and the Arkansas Association of Counties came together to create the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP), which represents an unprecedented, united front between the representatives of local government against opioid misuse in Arkansas. Using the Arkansas Opioids MOU, settlement agreements, and court orders approving settlements and bankruptcies, ARORP will fund evidenced-based programs and strategies to abate the opioid epidemic in Arkansas’s cities and counties.

Since 1804 the Arkansas National Guard has proudly served as a community-based, combat-proven force of citizen Soldiers and Airmen. Office of the Arkansas State Drug Director

The Arkansas State Drug Director is appointed by the Governor of Arkansas and leads the state’s prevention, treatment, and recovery strategy. The Drug Director works with communities across the state to abate substance misuse in Arkansas. 

The purpose of the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy is to promote, preserve, and protect the public health, safety, and welfare by and through the effective regulation of the many aspects of the drug delivery system. The agency licenses and regulates not only pharmacists and pharmacies, but also the distribution system where there is sale, delivery, or distribution of prescription drugs, medical gases, durable medical equipment, and legend devices.

The Accidental Poisoning Prevention Program is to reduce or eliminate accidental poisoning deaths, hospitalizations, and emergency department visits for all Arkansans. This will be done by increasing participation in Drug Take Back events, increasing utilization of evidence-based and best practice programs and interventions, integrating prevention efforts across service sectors, increasing timeliness and usefulness of surveillance system, and improving the ability to collect, analyze, and use information.

Our mission is to provide our community with a professional, progressive, community-oriented police department. The Arkansas Municipal League was founded in 1934 and exists for a threefold purpose:

  • to act as the official representative of Arkansas cities and towns before the state and federal governments; 
  • to provide a clearinghouse for information and answers; and, 
  • to offer a forum for discussion and sharing of mutual concerns.

We serve as the official voice for Arkansas counties. The overall purpose of the Association of Arkansas Counties (AAC) is to work for the improvement of county government in the state of Arkansas.

The Arkansas Department of Services Division of Aging, Adult, and Behavioral Health Services focuses on two populations: Arkansans who need behavioral health services, such as mental health and substance abuse treatment, and adults with physical disabilities and aging Arkansans who need services to stay in their homes and communities.

Attorney General of Arkansas Tim Griffin was elected on November 8, 2022. As part of each county Mobile Office, the Attorney General’s office partners with a local law enforcement agency to collect prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, pet medicines, medicated ointments and lotions, inhalers, liquid medicines in glass or leak-proof containers and medicine samples as part of a prescription drug take back event.

The mission of the Arkansas State Police is to protect human life and property in the state of Arkansas by providing the highest quality of law enforcement services to the public.
